Legio Damnatorium - The Shine Of The Shadows

Next it was time for some more intercessors and I wanted to include some more special marines, in particular a Retributor from the Astartes miniseries. The model was a lot of fun but painting the sigil on the pauldron was a major challenge! I also wanted to do something special with the base so I reused some more bits from the Guilliman kit. I am very happy with the end result.

I also wanted to expand the number of chapters so that's why I added a Death Company Blood angel and a Salamander. This squad was fun to paint because it required me to practice painting different colored NMM and also allowed me to do some fun conversions.

I had now finished almost ALL the models of the know no fear box and even some extra (E.g. the Salamander Lieutenant and the ancient). However, I still had the Inceptors left! At this point I had received the Indomitus boxset but that had to wait until I had finished all the Know No fear models.

Further, I decided to make the wait to start with Indomitus wait as long as possible (I am apparently a masochist :P) because I decided to make them all look like they were flying without the standard transparent stands. So, for each I had to come up with some effects that made them look like they wereflying.

These models were still very fun to do and required some innovation, but I am really happy with the result.

During this time it was announced that AOP 2020 would be online and this worked perfectly for me since I now had an army! I just needed a board :D

But before I started the board I had to do the Judiciar from the Indomitus box! I had been thinking about it for weeks (if not longer) and just had to try to put my plan into reality. In particular I wanted to dress him! Every model I had seen at this point of the model had the robes hanging on the right side (which is more or less his signature thing), but I thought it looked sloppy so I dressed mine.

I had bought some new sculpting tools (soft tipped) so I felt like I could do more sculpting work so I decided to also do a custom weapon! Once more to make the model unique, and since he already looked like death I gave him a massive scythe!

In the end I was very happy with the result and now it was time to do the board!
